Pakistan Election 2024: Where does the country go from here?
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz supporters celebrate a victory speech by Nawaz Sharif in February 2024 in Lahore, Pakistan. The elections were held following two years of political unrest after former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was removed from office. Khan’s party (independents) won the most seats in the 2024 general election but opposition party, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and Pakistan People's Party announced they would form a coalition party and hold the majority of seats.
The Establishment was accused of rigging votes in favour of the PML-N’s leader Nawaz Sharif.
